The Weekly Times was a free shopper news delivered to 23,000 homes in Southwest Iowa and Northwest Missouri that went out of business in February 2023. With the loss of the Weekly Times newspaper no alternative was available for one stop news or advertising.
Additionally, as cars have increased in efficiency, people travel more and southwest Iowa becomes more closely knit together, it is important now more than ever that we know our neighbors, trade locally, and share our successes.
The goal of the Southwest Iowa Beacon is to facilitate and encourage Iowans helping Iowans, neighbors helping neighbors, families helping families, and doing it in a way that is pleasing to Jesus Christ.
The paper is specifically printed on a higher quality brighter paper with a little larger font in order to improve and readability for both the young and the old.
